Rebates

The goal of our 2019 Rebate Program is to:
  • Promote the installation of energy efficient equipment for Red River Valley members’ homes and small commercial locations within the Co-op’s service territory.
  • Improve the return on investment to RRV members.
  • Educate members on energy efficiency opportunities and benefits.
  •  Utilize the program to continue positive public relations with RRV members.


Types of Rebates 
  • New Geothermal Installation
    • Maximum Rebate - $5,400
  • Geothermal Retrofit Installation
    • Maximum Rebate - $2,500
  • Air Source Heat Pump Installation
    • Maximum Rebate - $1,000
  • Electric Water Heater - Gas (or Propane) to Electric
    • Maximum Rebate - $250
  • Electric Water Heater - New Construction
    • Maximum Rebate - $250
Rebate Qualifications
  • Geothermal Installation
    • One rebate per physical address per physical year
    • $1050/ton (up to 5 Tons)
    • Minimum Efficiency Requirements (based on 2nd stage values):
      • Closed Loop: ≥ 15.9 EER & ≥ 3.3 COP (Desuperheater not required)
      • Open Loop: ≥ 18.0 EER & ≥ 3.6 COP (Desuperheater not required)
        • Additional $225 per unit with desuperheater
  • New Geothermal Retrofit
    • One rebate per physical address per physical year
    • $500 (up to 5 Tons)
    • Minimum Efficiency Requirements:
      • Closed Loop: ≥ 3.0 EER Increase & ≥ 3.3 COP (Desuperheater not required)
      • Open Loop: ≥ 3.0 EER Increase & ≥ 3.6 COP (Desuperheater not required)
  • Air Source Heat Pump
    • One rebate per physical address per physical year
    • $200/ton (up to 5 Tons)
    • Minimum Efficiency Requirements:
      • ≥ 15.0 SEER & ≥ 8.0 HSPF

  • Electric Water Heater
    • One rebate per physical address per physical year
    • $250/location
    • Minimum Efficiency Requirements:
      • ≥ 0.9 Energy Factor & ≥ 16 R-Value



Red River Valley reserves the right to inspect any installations upon request prior to issuing any rebate check to the member.

Red River Valley has budgeted $50,000 designated to the 2019 HVAC and Water Heater Rebate Program and will not exceed the stated amount.

If the 2019 Rebate Program reaches this cap, Red River will no longer issue rebates for the 2019 year.  Rebates will be available on a first come first serve basis.
